Ellis Says State Budget Vote is About More Than Just the 2017-18 Fiscal Year
Area lawmaker supports no-tax-increased budget plan
HARRISBURG – Rep. Brian Ellis (R-Butler) supported the state budget proposal for fiscal year 2017-18 in the state House on Friday. Spending $32 billion, the budget is expected to be a balanced and bipartisan plan that respects Pennsylvania taxpayers and provides appropriate funding for core government services.

“Throughout this year’s budget process, my colleagues and I have been focused on bigger picture thinking – growing Pennsylvania’s economy and plotting a new course forward for our state, along with initiatives that go far beyond just this fiscal year,” Ellis said. “This budget reduces the footprint of state government by merging agencies, maintains fiscal restraint by only implementing a 0.2 percent spending growth and changes the way state government operates.”

The budget bill has been sent to the governor for his signature. For more information about the 2017-18 state budget plan, visit
